1. Day 2Saqqara, Memphis & Dahshur Pyramids

   After breakfast at your hotel, meet your Egyptologist guide and depart by private air-conditioned vehicle to explore some of Egypt’s oldest archaeological sites. Begin at Saqqara, home to the famous Step Pyramid of King Djoser, widely recognized as the earliest major monumental stone pyramid in Egypt. Explore the surrounding funerary complex and learn about the architectural developments that led to the construction of the later pyramids. Continue to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt during its early dynastic history and the Old Kingdom. Discover the archaeological remains of this once-important political and religious center, including the colossal statue of Ramses II and other surviving monuments. Proceed to Dahshur, an important royal necropolis featuring two remarkable pyramids built during the reign of Pharaoh Sneferu. Visit the Bent Pyramid, famous for its distinctive change in angle, which reflects the evolution of pyramid construction techniques. Then explore the Red Pyramid, one of the earliest successful smooth-sided pyramids in Egypt. After completing the tour, transfer to Cairo International Airport for your departure, or to your hotel if you are extending your stay.
